Nigeria-Ghana International School is a private co-educational Nursery/Primary, Junior and Senior Secondary school located in Abuja. Established in 2006, NGIS is one of the best international schools in Abuja with exquisite facilities. The school academic team is composed of professional and seasoned Ghanaian and Nigerian teachers.
With conducive teaching and learning environment, quality of manpower and unwavering commitment, Nigeria-Ghana has set the pace in education in Nigeria and is leaving no stone unturned towards making the society a better place through moral upbringing and functional academic programmes.

Accreditations and Affiliations
Nigeria-Ghana International School has received all the necessary accreditations from the Federal Ministry of Education, through the Department for Quality Assurance (DQA) of the Federal Capital Territory to run both the elementary, junior and senior secondary school programmes.
NGIS has affiliations with the following institutions in Ghana:
- University of Ghana, Legon, Accra, Ghana
- Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana
- KAAF University College, Accra, Ghana.
Students graduating from NGIS can be admitted into any of the above reputable universities for further studies based on their academic performance in the WASSCE.
Curriculum
NGIS uses the Nigerian and hybrid curriculum. The school curriculum is very rich and in line with the approved National Curriculum for elementary and secondary schools by the Federal Ministry of Education.
Classes
- The Nursery/Primary section runs classes from Play Group, Pre-Nursery, Nursery to Basic Five (5). The primary section also runs the Montessori curriculum which is a child-centered approach that encourages independence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning. Montessori education helps students develop at their pace and build confidence, focus, and self-discipline.
- The Secondary section runs classes from Year Seven (JS1) to Year Twelve (SS3).

Academic Programmes
Recognized excellence in international education
Major Test/Continuous Assessment (CA)
This type of test is conducted for all students and is graded at 30% which is added to the terminal examination graded at 70% to give a total score of 100%.
Mock Test
This type of test is normally conducted for students preparing for their final external examinations to test their level of preparedness towards the task ahead.
Holiday Assignment
This is a form of exercise normally given to students while on holiday to keep them busy and prepare them for the coming term.
Terminal Examination
The terminal examination is usually conducted at the end of every term for students to assess all they have learnt within the term. It is graded at 70% which is usually added to the continuous assessment score (30%) to give a total score of 100%.
Intervention Programme
The intervention programme is designed for students who are academically weak/slow in learning. Such students are separated from their classmates and are give special attention, especially in the areas they find difficult to understand.
Terminal Reports
This is a statement of result of the examination for a particular term. Every student’s report is normally posted to their respective parents at the end of every term to inform them of their wards’ performance in the school. Students’ Scores are calculated cumulatively at the end of every session; this is used to decide promotion into the next class.
